A temple town! It's also got a nice beach. This is a pilgrim centre, 32km away from Thrissur town. The Sri Krishna temple found here is said to have been constructed in the 16th century. The deity, Lord Guruvayurappan, as Lord Krishna is known in Kerala, is believed to have great healing powers.

Nearest railway connection is at Thrissur, a town 32 km from Guruvayur. Luxury buses touch Thrissur and proceed to Cochin/Trivandrum. The nearest airport is Cochin, about 80 km from Guruvayur.
